Hi Ray
I have looked again and if you look carefully the 1st dust particle that floats accross by the gravestone is definately in front of whatever this is. I do not think it is a spider as if it was that close to the camera it would not show up as a dot and you would be able to make out what it was. I can see what you mean about the not going behind the pillar but if my memory is right it is not the top of the pillar you can see as the camera lens fish eyes and I think it is the detail over the right hand window that it passes infront of. Again we can look into this when we are there again to confirm.

The only thing I can think of watching the footage again...are it could be a small spider hanging down, being blown around by a draft in front of the camera. At first I thought that it appeared to go behind the pillar but looking at the footage it doesn't.

that isnt an insect. its movement isnt as erratic as an insect. Dust usually follows gravity, and doesnt get bigger or brighter . Think you got an orb!.
The moth and also a bat caught on the same camera have now been added the the Woodchester anomaly page

Good footage, seems strange how it went into the large white circle just as, is it Dave? came in as if it didn't want to be seem!!

The only person left in the Mummy room opposite was Sandy, one of the volunteers, who was (On duty) and stayed in the room. Dave will try and put something together to explain where the cameras were placed for those of you who don't know the layout. Helen, the second part of the footage shows Ray entering the room on the Left, and me and Natasha leaving the Mummy room on the Right.

Hello guys, nice site and what a great day. Reading the ladies comment I can understand that she would think that it was a lazer pen as I suspected this also while watching the screen from upstairs. However I was the bloke who came into the room in that footage to source the unexplained light and I was the only person entering the room as the light anomaly disappeared. I didn't see any insects, moths or flys in the room, or any light by the naked eye. For it to have been a lazer pen there would have to have been a person in the opposite room to have the opportunity to shine the light. What I would be interested in is to see who else comes out of the room opposite other than ken and Natasha as I got carried away by the moment and didn't check. Thanks guys.

Thanks for your comments, I can confirm that there were no people in that area at the time. The person you see entering the room was in the hub at the time the light started and ran down to the cellar to see what it was. I was in the room opposite at the time talking to some of the volunteers at the Mansion, and can confirm that no-0ne had a lazer pointer on them.

There clearly is a person in the room, as he comes into shot. There are two obvious possibilities, a laser pointer used by a person in the area he comes from or brightly lit dust, but frankly, I'd say this is someone with a laser pointer. They are easily concealed and can be used without it being obvious to others.
